ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIESThe mission of the Nosara Scholarship Program is to use education to lift a child, and his or her family, out of poverty in rural Costa Rica. We provide full and partial scholarships for local children of Nosara to attend Del Mar Academy, a non for profit, bilingual school with International Baccalaureate accreditation located in Nosara, Costa Rica.

THE PROBLEM WITH PUBLIC EDUCATION IN RURAL COSTA RICA
Education in rural parts of Costa Rica is often sub standard. Rural schools are so underfunded and overcrowded that children only attend a half-day, and often not a full week. Many children here do not finish high school. Generation after generation continue to live in poverty, bouncing among low-paying, seasonal jobs - or no jobs at all - in order to support extended family.

The Scholarship Program is run entirely by volunteers, so every dollar you donate goes towards a child's tuition. Del Mar Academy, now a registered Costa Rican non-profit organization, was founded more than 10 years ago, and already we can see the promise of our high school scholarship students and their bright futures. One education can truly make a difference.
